Sunburst Bamboo
Botanical Name: Bambusa pervariabilis cv. viridistriata
Description: Native to China, Sunburst bamboo is a very rare bamboo. Commonly known as Punting pole bamboo. If you are a bamboo enthusiast and a collectible of bamboo, This bamboo is a must to add to your selection. Like much bamboo, punting pole changes colour over time. The new shoots are generally yellow with green stripes, then yellow/gold with darker green lines. Branches are full and dense from ground to top with very delicate leaves. It can be pruned to any height and looks excellent pleached, which means that the leaves are removed from the base of the plant, revealing the stunning golden canes. Great for specimen or screening,

Care instructions:
- This species shoots in late summer through Autumn.
- Sunburst bamboo can reach its full height in about 2 -3 years, depending on conditions and the size of the purchased pot.
- Water well and keep moist when planting until well established.
- Love's a drink, including a good rainfall.
- Fair drought tolerant once established.
- It can be pruned to any height and pleached (remove the lower leaves).
- Sunburst is not suitable for small areas due to its clump size. (Can be managed clump size by using a root barrier)
- Fertilise regularly to promote vigorous growth and more vibrant leaves.
- Not suited to Small pots or Small planter boxes.
